SHAOLIN HUNG MEI KUNG FU ASSOCIATION

Shaolin Hung Mei Kung Fu was established in Colorado in 1993 and, at the time of incorporating in 1999, broadened its range of activities by creating a parent, umbrella organization, the “Shaolin Hung Mei Kung Fu Association”. In support of its mission, values, and goals, the Association was founded based on a unique structure – a 501C3, non-profit and 100% staffed by volunteers. In addition to being the designated lineage bearer and being challenged with the responsibility of passing the skills, knowledge, and character of a traditional Chinese martial system (Shaolin Hung Mei Kung Fu) on to a next generation, the “Association”, in 2002, established its “Academy of Chinese Martial and Cultural Arts”. Today, a myriad of programs related to Chinese culture and ranging from traditional dance to Chinese medicine are offered at the Academy. In addition to these on-going programs, the Academy plays host to a variety of singular special events, lectures, and workshops, all related to the rich Chinese heritage.

SHMKFA strives to not only sustain the traditional art of Shaolin Hung Mei Kung Fu, but through its performances, workshops, and lectures, as well as the variety of regular programs and other special events held at the Academy of Chinese Martial and Cultural Arts, The “Association” intends to raise awareness for the rich Chinese heritage among the general public. As a result, of its unique structure, 100% of all revenue is utilized for operating expenses.
